Creative North
In Creative North we contribute to strengthened entrepreneurship among companies in the cultural and creative industries in northern Sweden.
One of the major challenges in a transition to a sustainable society, especially in a rapidly growing region like North of Sweden, is to transform places into sustainable, enriching, democratic and meaningful places for everyone. Places and environments that we can all be proud of for generations to come. Culture and creativity play a major role to succeed in this transformation.
The cultural and creative industries play an important role in succeeding in this societal transformation. The industries with approximately 130,000 companies (=1/10 of Sweden's companies) and 190,000 professional practitioners are one of Sweden's important industries. The value that is created often reaches international markets quickly through exports and with digital business models and channels.
Specific to the industries is that they are 90% micro and small companies where the business model often consists of collaborating with others in, for example, film, fashion, music, games, design, performing arts and cultural heritage, but also with other industries in, for example, product - and site development. Collaborations and networks that create innovative power, cohesion and resilience.
Creative North aims to strengthen entrepreneurship, cooperation and innovation and create new business opportunities for companies in the cultural and creative industries. We do this by creating:
- Meeting places
- Business and innovation support
- Coaching and expertise
- Design workshops and place development.
- Communication and visibility
