Contact AslakAs part of Medtech4Health’s National Development Project for Implementation, and its sub-activity on Innovation Procurement, a working group comprising representatives from regions, research institutes, medtech companies, and innovation firms has jointly developed tools aimed at removing barriers and better facilitating innovation procurement.
To increase the number of implemented medical technology innovations—and thereby better address the often complex needs within healthcare and social care—there is a need for improved procurement processes, enhanced purchaser competence, and better procurement support for companies.
A successful innovation procurement requires a deep understanding by the purchaser—and ideally also the supplier—of the operational needs, both current and future.
The network operates bottom-up, with member organizations taking turns hosting meetings, which can be held either in person or virtually, with RISE providing administrative support when needed. The program varies based on the needs and experiences shared within the network. The ambition is to meet quarterly. The project group has compiled a set of methods and knowledge on innovation procurement for purchasers at the strategic, tactical, and operational levels. The material also includes a supplier guide offering support on how to co-develop medical technology solutions with a purchaser and navigate the procurement process to enable the purchase of innovation.
