Contact JennyWith the new regulations, we will soon move from today's voluntary type approval to a statutory requirement for testing and certification of products in contact with drinking water. The Drinking Water Directive imposes higher demands on manufacturers, who must ensure that their products comply with the applicable regulations.
Products that do not have national approval before December 31, 2026, as well as new products on the market, will need to be certified according to the new directive to be sold within the EU from January 1, 2027. RISE has applied to become a notified body to certify according to the Drinking Water Directive, and we are currently building a testing lab for hygiene tests according to the Commission's Implementing Decision 2024/368.
We are pleased to offer the opportunity to certify your product as soon as our certification service becomes available. To ensure you get a place on our waiting list, please register your interest today.
Please note that there are currently no opportunities to certify according to the new assessment system.
Register your interest by filling out the interest form on the right.
We look forward to helping you certify your product!
The timeline for implementation is tight, and it is important to act in good time. Type approval is a good way to demonstrate suitability for intended use until the system is fully implemented. Until December 31, 2026, there is the option to type approve your product, which means a longer time for transition to the new requirements. The advantage is also that the transition to the new certification will be smoother and can be adapted to your needs. As a manufacturer, you then have until 2032 before the product must be evaluated and labeled according to the new assessment system to be sold in the EU.
