Contact LarsRISE offers a service for continuous measurement and monitoring system with wireless sensors of the climate in building structures. The system also measures moisture content and especially in Nordic spruce and pine with wood species and temperature correction. Evaluation is done, among other things, with mold models. RISE has used the system since
One purpose may be to monitor moisture conditions to provide peace of mind or to catch sudden failures, deficiencies or deterioration early before both warranty and liability periods expire. Another purpose may be to continuously obtain moisture and temperature conditions to be able to prove the function of structures and demonstrate that they work in reality and as intended and learn for future construction projects. Documentation of accurate measurement data is valuable both directly or for later analysis and for the dissemination of experience and knowledge of the behavior of the building structure, but also to demonstrate that both building regulations are met and quality is assured.
The system also performs analysis of measurement data, for example with mould models. This is often a prerequisite for being able to assess whether the moisture conditions that have arisen may have resulted in damage or not.
Wireless sensors measure relative humidity, temperature and moisture content, which are stored for a certain period of time in each sensor and sent to a local measurement collector (Gateway) in the building. Gatway is also designed for wireless connection to the internet and the measurements can also be followed continuously in real time. Gatway needs a standard 220V electrical outlet.
The sensors are electric and powered by a lithium battery, with an operating time of up to 10 years at normal measurement intervals. Moisture content is measured by the resistance method between two stainless steel electrodes. Correction is made according to our correction formula for wood type and temperature.
Before and after (if possible) use, calibration or comparative control against traceable climate and/or measuring instruments is performed.
Evaluation of measurement data is done, among other things, with mould models that we have developed (MOGLI model) or participated in the development of (MRD model).
Placement of measuring points is crucial to get the most critical points and get the most benefit from the measurements. We advise on the placement of measuring points and we can go out and install sensors and measuring collectors if desired.
For example, we are happy to send equipment that has been calibrated and tested by us and it is just to screw up in the desired measuring points and plug the plug to the measuring collector into a 220V power outlet. The measurement data (RF and T) is directly available online and it is possible to be notified if deviations occur.
Measured data on moisture content with corrected moisture content values, RH, temperature and analysis of moisture conditions with mould model.
Reconciliations are carried out as required, for example half-yearly reconciliations, and the measurements are compiled in a measurement report with measurement diagrams, analyses and conclusions.
