Verification of Self-declaration for Social responsibility

Sweden has developed the specification Organizations' social responsibility - Maximizing the contribution to sustainable development - Self-declaration - SIS/TS 2:2021 which is based on ISO 26000 and is verifiable. We offer an impartial verification that gives your organization a confirmation of your sustainability work and social responsibility.

Purpose of the certification

ISO 26000 covers a wide range of social issues such as labor, environment, good business practices, consumer issues, community engagement and development. More and more organizations are choosing to adopt the standard and use it to create a clear way of working to maximize their contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The SIS TS 2 self-declaration, together with ISO 26000, provides support and assistance in implementing, packaging and communicating an organization's social responsibility in a credible way. Working with the standard helps the organization to identify its strengths and weaknesses, which in turn can be turned into business and development opportunities. The standard is based on dialogue with your stakeholders, which, among other things, provides the conditions for better control of suppliers and creating added value for stakeholders.

Benefits of the verification

The Corporate Social Responsibility Self-declaration can be used by a wide range of organizations and helps them to

  • map their impact on stakeholders and society and create approaches and targets to increase positive and reduce negative impacts
  • ensure compliance with legal and other stakeholder requirements
  • provide management with good control over the organization's impact on social responsibility
  • set concrete targets for improvement, continuously monitor and evaluate the impact of its CSR activities
  • continuously improve its performance
  • create sustainable business models
  • meet the sustainability report requirement in the Annual Accounts Act (1995:1554)

Method

The self-declaration, which is done according to SIS/TS 2:2021, consists of 50 questions that the organization must answer and thus describe its operational work with ISO 26000. The organization can then choose to have an external body verify the results of the self-declaration. A verification means that a trained verifier impartially reviews the organization's self-declaration, statements regarding the organization's social responsibility and its accuracy and credibility.

See description of RISE verification and validation process.
