New European Bauhaus Academy

The New European Bauhaus (NEB) is an EU initiative aimed at linking the European Green Deal with democracy, the design of the built environment, and quality of life. It is about creating sustainable, inclusive, and aesthetically pleasing living environments – making the green transition both visible and tangible in people's everyday lives.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen describes NEB as "the soul of the European Green Deal," where climate goals are realized through creativity, participation, and innovation, and take shape in how we design our cities and communities.

The initiative encourages collaboration and co-creation to address complex societal challenges and is based on three core values:

• Sustainability: Focus on climate targets, circularity, zero pollution, and biodiversity.
• Beauty: Aiming for quality of experience and aesthetic expression beyond mere functionality.
• Inclusion: Promoting diversity and inclusion, and ensuring access to good living environments for all, regardless of circumstances.

NEBA – New European Bauhaus Academy

To enable the transition, the European Commission has launched the flagship project New European Bauhaus Academy to strengthen the ability to work across disciplines, consciously and innovatively, in the sustainable transformation of our cities and communities.
Together with 14 partners in 11 countries, the goal is to reach 3 million professionals across the EU by 2027.

The mission of NEB Academy is to educate, upskill, and reskill the sector’s ecosystem to achieve a carbon-neutral, beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive transformation of our built environment.
