23IND06 Met4EVCS workshop
Welcome to a workshop on measurement technology for electric vehicle charging systems.
The aim of this workshop is to present the developments and expected outputs of the project Met4EVCS, Metrology for electric vehicle charging systems. We also want to receive input from you as an important user/stakeholder. The project aims to develop metrology capabilities for the evalutaion of EVCS under realistic conditions and to support the improvement of present regulations and standards.
For us, as project team, it is crucial to exchange information with EVCS manufacturers, Grid operators, the metrological and scientific communities, and legislation or standardization organizations.
This workshop will discuss the following project aims:
- operational reference test benches for the characterisation of metering accuracy and the energy transfer efficiency
- determination of conducted emissions in regards to AC and DC EVCS
- calibration services for AC and DC EVCS
- database of measured grid distortions and grid impedances
- Test methodologies and protocols
- on-site verification of EVCS meter accuracy
“The project 23IND06 Met4EVCS has received funding from the European Partnership on Metrology, co-financed from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme and by the Participating States.” “Funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or EURAMET. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.”
Helko van den Brom
Helko van den Brom is a principal scientist at VSL and has more than 20 years of experience in electrical metrology. He realised several power & energy related measurement systems at VSL. He coordinated several EU-funded projects, including the recently completed EMPIR project 20NRM03 DC grids, and was the WP leader in many European metrology projects. His research interests range from fundamental topics such as Josephson voltage standards and very small DC currents to applied power-related topics such as power quality, energy metering, current transformers, and sampling systems."
Andrea Mariscotti
Andrea Mariscotti received the degree in Electronics Engineering in 1991 and the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1997, both from the University of Genova.
His research fields are EMC applied to industrial, military and transportation systems, including system assurance and functional safety aspects; power quality and power system modeling and analysis; electrical measurement, including the design and construction of measurement setups and instrumentation; earthing, stray current and lightning protection design and test for electrified transports.
Jan Kuzera
Jan Kučera, senior researcher, is involved mainly in research of traceability and characterization of standards, electrical impedance measuring techniques, analytical and numerical modelling and fabrication of standards, automation of the calibration processes. Member of EVSE dedicated groups OIML TC 12 P3, WELMEC WG11 group SGe/ahg3.
Mohammad Kharezy
Dr. Mohammad Kharezy is a researcher in the field of high voltage measurement technology who joined RISE in 2011. He has been involved in several research projects including EURAMET ENG07 HVDC or GridForm. He is a member of Cigré and IEEE. In addition to research activities, he has been continuously involved with daily on-site and in-laboratory calibration projects. Previously for more than 18 years he has been actively engaged with management of high voltage testing and research projects.
