Contact MarieWelcome to the last webinar of the year organised by the Centre for Industrial and Urban Symbiosis where we discuss how symbiosis networks can strengthen and accelerate the transition to a sustainable society. We start from ongoing symbiosis work and explore how this relates to the global Mission Innovation Net Zero Innovations Initiative.
The climate change requires a multifaceted approach, and within the Mission Innovation Net Zero Innovations Initiative, which RISE is helping to run, work is being done at a global level to develop innovation clusters that address climate challenges while meeting human needs - without crossing any planetary boundaries. By shifting the focus from mitigating problems to creating sustainable solutions for human needs, a platform for future societies is created. The work can be adapted and embedded with local actors and businesses, and the Mission Innovation Net Zero Innovations Initiative also links to symbiosis networks through the development of solution-focused innovation clusters.
The webinar programme is as follows:
1. Rickard Fornell, RISE, introduces the connection between symbiosis and transition.
2. Dennis Pamlin, RISE, presents the Mission Innovation Net Zero Innovations Initiative with a historical review and an overview of current work globally and in the EU, linked to symbiosis development.
3. panel discussion: RISE and Swedish symbiosis actors participate in a panel to discuss the two previous presentations and ongoing work in the various networks. Together we will develop and discuss ideas around symbiosis and its role in the transition perspective.
