Anwar Ahniyaz
Senior Forskare
Dr. Anwar Ahniyaz is senior researcher at RISE Bioeconomy and Health Division and adjunct associate professor at Stockholm University in Material Chemistry. He received a B. Sc. in Chemistry at Xinjiang University in 1991 and a D. Sc. in Material Science at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2002 in the field of synthesis and characterization of functional nanoparticles.
During 1994-1999, Anwar worked as a Lecturer at Xinjiang University, teaching physical chemistry and structural chemistry.
During 2002-2005 Anwar worked as a researcher at the Materials and Structures Laboratory of Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, with a close collaboration with industries, including the Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and Rhodia (Now Solway) and contributed to the development of inorganic-organic nanocomposites for contact lens applications, Inorganic phosphors for lighting applications, cathode materials for Li-ion Battery applications and ceria-zirconia solid solution-based three-way catalysts for automotive exhaust gas treatment applications.
During the 2005-2007, Anwar worked as a researcher at Stockholm University, contributed to the establistment of inorganic nanoparticle synthesis lab under supervision of Prof. Lennart Bergstrom.
Since 2007 Anwar worked as a project manager at YKI (Institute for Surface Chemistry), SP (SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden) and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. during this period, he dealt with industrial problem-solving and troubleshooting in material development and slurry engineering.
In 2022, Anwar was appointed as an adjunct associate professor in material chemistry at Stockholm University. So far, Anwar has published over 45 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and co-invented several patents.
Anwar has broad expertise in material science, slurry engineering, energy storage, coating and inks formulation. His research areas include but are not limited Li-ion batteries, sodium ion batteries, functional coating, conductive inks, mesoporous silica, latex-engineering, nanoparticle dispersion, ceramics, dental materials, carbon material (CNTs, CNFs, carbon fibers, graphene, graphite) biomaterials (HAP, CaCO3) and packaging materials. Anwar is currently involved in several large EU projects, including Exploit4InnoMat, Hypelignum, Lightcoce, GIGABAT, NEXTBAT, and coordinating 3 EU projects, including PULSELION, NOVOC, SOURCE.
