SHDC Workshop on Future in hydrogen production

11 August 2023, 14:34

We see a lot of hydrogen production projects in the planning phase. The investments are based on future assumptions on hydrogen production costs. But what is reasonable to expect? Which technologies do we see on the market, what are the future questions and what will the total production cost be?

Program

Day 1

Block 1: The technologies that are just around the corner. Lets learn about the research at universities and research institutes and also development at companies in the technology frontier. How will the ongoing research & development affect the electrolyser and hydrogen market in the future?

Block 2: The electrolyser industry scouts into the future. Which technologies do we see in 5 – 10 years? Will the efficiency improve? Which are the opportunities and threats? Will we meet the expected price erosion on CAPEX and will the production ramp up as forecasted?

Block 3: Technologies which will be complementary to electrolysis, and how to combine different technologies for different applications

Day 2

Block 4: How will large scale electrolysis and high-power semiconductors of the electrolyser affect and be compatible with the power grid? How can the high volume hydrogen production in a volatile electricity system be handled?

Block 5: Total production cost. The hydrogen production cost is based on several factors; CAPEX, OPEX, utilization strategy, electrolyser technology, stack degradation etc. Is it reasonable that the expected hydrogen target price will be met? Let’s calculate together in this interactive workshop!
