At RISE we have long-standing experience on how structures react to seismic events. We operate a test bed able to perform seismic tests of objects up to 2 tons. The test bed is combined with numerical simulations to offer a large window of services for the evaluation of the seismic vulnerability of equipment, buildings and infrastructures at different scales.
We dispose of modelling tools for the analysis of the seismic response of structures by means of the most common linear and nonlinear seismic analysis methods. These include pushover analysis, modal analysis, modal response spectrum analysis (MRSA), and time-history analysis (THA).
Our engineers can select and generate various earthquake scenarios based on recorded, simulated and artificial ground motions, apply them to the model, and assess the results with respect to the structural integrity according to code provisions.
Our laboratory resources and experience in seismic tests are available for the formulation of non-standardized solutions, where experiments and simulations are combined to reduce the uncertainty and implement new loading scenarios (hybrid analysis).
