Cleancon - Clean Construction Machinery
Machinery for construction work accounts for a large part, about 20-25%, of CO2 emissions in the Scandinavian transport sector. By promoting the use of zero-emission machinery in construction projects and in municipal operations, Cleancon wants to contribute to a reduction of these emissions.
The project promotes technology development through procurement and dialogue within the entire chain of actors and creates a bridge between manufacturers and customers.
Cleancon is an EU-funded project within the Scandinavian cross-border cooperation Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak.
Through the public actors in the partnership, processes for procurement of machinery and contracts are developed, as well as a cross-border public arena for the exchange of experience. The use of emission-free machinery is linked to existing energy and climate strategies and a handbook for public procurement of contracts and machinery is developed.
To accelerate and facilitate the development of electrified machinery, Cleancon also works with machine manufacturers and the construction industry. Through dialogue meetings with construction companies, machine manufacturers and municipalities/customers, the producers get a picture of the customers' needs and the customers get a picture of what the producers can offer and what challenges they face in technology development. This enables manufacturers to meet the new requirements set in public procurement and at the same time create new business opportunities.
A market analysis of available technology and a handbook for the construction industry are produced.
Cleancon also promotes technology development of emission-free machinery through seven different demonstration projects in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Results and experiences from the demonstration projects will be compiled in a separate report.
Upon completion, Cleancon's manuals and other deliveries will be published on the project website, www.cleancon.se.
