National Development Project Implementation - Medtech4Health

There is a need to increase the pace of implementation of medical technology products and services within healthcare. The project's objective is to create a number of tools for systematic evaluation and implementation support so that the following is achieved:

• More new products and services in use
• Increase knowledge regarding systematic evaluation and implementation
• Contribute to the creation of structures to remove obstacles and facilitate systematic evaluation and implementation

In this national development project, the focus is on the needs of healthcare and mainly the later parts of the innovation process - implementation and patient benefit, the evidence and management perspective and how the idea is received by those who will use it. The project limits its activities to publicly funded organisations.

The focus areas we have chosen to work with in the project are:

• Systematic evaluation
• Juridical aspects
• Procurement
• Organisation

During the course of the project, new activities/sub-projects, which address challenges of the focus areas, have been started and carried out, e.g. evidence generation, legal value chains, innovation procurement, evaluation of e-health solutions.

A National Development Project (NUP) within Medtech4Health acts as an umbrella for activities within Medtech4Health to increase the program's accuracy, clarity and cutting edge. The project brings together activities and efforts that are expected to create added value for Medtech4Health by meeting the program's identified challenges in a structured manner.
