Smart Housing Småland strengthens competitiveness in wood and glass industries

Smart Housing Småland is an accelerator and catalyst for business and a motor in the regional innovation and growth system around Småland's strengths wood and glass. The task is to strengthen competitiveness and growth by creating good collaborations between all actors in society, both at national and international level.

Task
The task is to strengthen the region's competitiveness and sustainable growth by creating good cooperation between all actors in society, both at national and international level. We do this through a number of offers in innovation & development, projects, thematic groups, learning and internationalization.

Challenges
Smart Housing Småland faces a number of challenges; the need for new housing, the need to build efficiently, flexibly, modern, energy efficient and sustainable. We build an innovation environment, in collaboration with industry, academia and public, where, with the user at the center, we create smart housing and sustainable building in the combination of wood and glass.

Vinnväxt winner
In 2013, Smart Housing Småland became one of the winners in Vinnova's Vinnväxt competition and received ten years of funding with the goal of establishing a national and internationally strong and attractive innovation environment.

Organisation
Smart Housing Småland is led by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden in close collaboration with Träcentrum as well as a steering group and reference group. The venture also includes a large number of companies throughout Småland, all three county administrative boards and regional federations, Linnaeus University and Jönköping University.
