Contact SophiaWould you like to strengthen your organization and increase patient involvement in your operations? Working in a person-centered manner, with patient involvement, has proven to reduce time in hospital stay, enhance patient safety, lower costs, and create a better work environment as well as transitioning to "integrated care."
Since 2020, there has been a standard, 17398:2020 Patient involvement in health care - Minimum requirement for person-centered care. Now, RISE is seeking interested organizations that wish to proceed with certification.
Person-centered care involves viewing the patient as a whole person, rather than just a disease or medical condition. This care model places the individual at the center and emphasizes their unique assets, needs, and preferences. It is built on three core pillars: partnership, narrative, and documentation. Patient involvement is a vital component in achieving person-centered care and involves the active role of patients in their own health care.
Certification is a process where an independent entity thoroughly assesses an organization based on a specific framework, such as a standard, to gain an understanding of its current state. The results are presented in a report summarizing observations and improvement suggestions to meet the standard's requirements. This knowledge can then guide the organization's ongoing development efforts and facilitate internal and external collaborations.
Certification entails two for one to two days of interviewing staff and management. Interviews with patients and their close relatives can occur during these days or through phone/video afterward. Auditors prepare by reviewing your operational system and documentation, including how you implement person-centered care. All activities are conducted with strict confidentiality.
