Senior Researcher – AI Architectures and Computer Systems
Do you want to develop scalable AI platforms and cutting-edge computer systems? Do you have a passion for computer architecture and designing and developing advanced AI hardware and software solutions? Then you might be the person we are looking for!
Our research unit, Computer Systems, is located in Electrum in Kista and is part of the RISE Computer Science department. We explore scalable AI platforms, machine learning algorithms, compilers and software technologies in research projects with high academic quality at both international and national levels, and also in close direct collaboration with industry. We are looking to expand our Kista team with a senior researcher in AI architectures and computer systems.
About the role
Your role as a full-time senior researcher in AI architectures and computer systems sharpens our focus towards computer architectures and their co-design with software stacks for AI and applications. You will work in a growing and committed research team and collaborate on research projects with academic and industrial partners in national and international projects as a leading expert researcher. As senior researcher you will set and pursue your own research agenda in collaboration with other domain experts.
Your most important tasks are to:
- Lead and participate in cutting-edge research projects
- Publish high-quality research results in leading publication venues
- Work on high-quality research proposals with internal and external partners
- Supervise students both at PhD and MSc levels
The position is a full-time employment at RISE with location in Kista. We currently follow a hybrid work model, allowing our employees to divide their time between the office and working from home.
Who are you?
As a researcher in our team you are driven by taking on new challenges, and through your structured and independent way of working you thrive in a dynamic research environment. You have experience in leading and participating in research projects in the area of AI- and reconfigurable architectures, their associated software stacks, and hardware-software co-design. You are familiar with the state of the art in these and associated research fields and have a track record of publishing, acquiring project grants, and participating in leading roles in projects at both national and international levels within your field. You are social and like to engage with different audiences on the subject of your research.
You have a Ph.D. or equivalent postgraduate education from a university, preferably with a focus on AI architectures, computer systems, or related fields. It is a merit if you have experience in hardware design, compilers, and operating systems and experience in SystemVerilog, VHDL, C, C++. Since our partners are both in Sweden and abroad, you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English.
Are we right for each other?
The Computer Systems research unit is growing and we want to expand our team with a senior researcher in AI architectures and hardware-software codesign. We have a diverse team with a common focus on scalable AI platforms and compilers, distributed systems for, or enhanced by, AI, and the systems that comprise these. At RISE, we like differences and we are convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment where we together challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge and competence for the future. With us, passionate problem solvers meet to solve some of the world's most important, and perhaps most interesting, problems. We can't promise you a simple job, but we can promise you dedicated colleagues and exciting technical and societal challenges to address in a dynamic environment that gives you development opportunities both professionally and personally. With us, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference. Welcome to Sweden’s research institute and innovation partner!
