Johan Algell

With almost 30 years of professional experience from various parts of the maritime industry, Johan Algell has acquired a unique knowledge of shipping as a sustainable, attractive, and cost-effective solution for the provision of transportation services for passengers and cargo. His work has ranged from small autonomous cable ferries to large-scale LNG carriers in both the private and the public sector.

He has often been in a managerial role, either as project manager or in various executive positions. Johan has experience from the implementation of multidisciplinary ship design projects all the way from the first sketch on a paper all the way to commissioning. Johan has also run his own company for a part of his professional life. He was also incremental for the development of LNG as marine fuel in Sweden and elsewhere with a prime focus of the challenges related to the development of a multimodal regional supply chain and bunkering operations of LNG.

Lately his main focus have been the development of solutions for the transportation of large volumes of liquefied carbon dioxide, a market with a significant growth potential due to the increased interest in the implementation of CCS and CCU.
