Contact MelinaIn a time of rapid change and growing societal challenges—where we face threats to human rights, widening inequalities, and pressing issues related to equity and gender equality both in Sweden and globally—RISE is taking action.
Today’s fast-changing world presents complex challenges that demand innovative and collaborative solutions. No single actor can tackle these issues alone—cross-organizational learning and cooperation are more crucial than ever.
By joining the partnership, organizations gain access to an extensive network, training sessions, and workshops, along with opportunities to collaborate in research and innovation projects.
The partnership serves as a platform for cross-sector collaboration, aiming to promote social justice, enhance diversity, and strengthen societal resilience—with a strong focus on practical application and shared learning.
RISE is launching a unique partnership for organizations, authorities, and public actors that want to deepen their work with equality and gender equality—not just as goals in themselves, but as crucial drivers and enablers of sustainable and innovative societal development.
Through this partnership, we bring together initiatives, research, and practical solutions to collectively build a more inclusive and resilient society. We know that trust and participation create resilience, and that innovation is at its strongest when everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
RISE is initiating this partnership to translate research into action, drive change efforts, and create concrete solutions to societal challenges together with others over time.
The world is undergoing major transformations—climate change, digitalization, and geopolitical tensions are rapidly reshaping societies. At the same time, gender equality and social equity are being challenged, and fundamental rights are at risk. In this critical moment, inclusion and justice are not just values but essential strategies for building sustainable and innovative societies.
This partnership provides a platform for public actors and authorities to develop methods for integrating gender equality and inclusion into societal transformation and research. It also ensures you stay informed about EU requirements while strengthening your capacity for innovation.
In this partnership, we work together—starting from real societal challenges to identify needs, explore solutions, and test new approaches. Through collaboration and research-based expertise, we ensure that insights and knowledge are transformed into action.
Our work is grounded in research and experience that examines how societal development can be advanced in complex environments where multiple actors and factors interact.

RISE is an independent, state-owned research institute with extensive expertise, resources, and networks in research and innovation across society. As a research institute, RISE has experience in participating in, leading, and creating projects and collaborations across Sweden and internationally. Among our many research and innovation areas are issues of equality and inclusion, resilience and sustainability, and innovation management.
Why work towards a more equal, resilient, and innovative society?
Equality and gender equality are not just matters of fairness – they are fundamental prerequisites for achieving social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
Research shows that societies investing in these areas achieve stronger economic results, better social cohesion, and are better equipped to handle crises and increase their innovation capacity.
When people have the opportunity to participate in society on equal terms, we become more resilient in facing today's complex challenges. In addition to being a goal and value in itself, extensive international research points to equality and social sustainability as crucial factors for both resilience and innovation, in both large societies and small organizations. Equality is simply a prerequisite for resilience and innovation to be consistently sustainable and impactful. The conditions equality brings include enhanced trust and confidence between people and the inclusion of more perspectives to solve old and new challenges with unforeseen opportunities.
The partnership is aimed at public actors and authorities who wish to work in a research-driven environment while sharing experiences and lessons with others. It is for those who see the potential in actively and strategically working on equality, resilience, and innovation, and are committed to the responsibilities outlined in the partnership's letter of intent. You should have a leadership or development role in the organization.
If this doesn’t apply to you or your organization, for example, if a partnership in this format doesn't fit or if your organization is in the private sector or civil society, feel free to contact us if you're curious about other ways to collaborate with us at RISE on issues of equality, innovation, and resilience.
At RISE, we conduct research, provide education, and run applied projects on equality, resilience, and innovation in various forms and contexts. If you are curious about how we can support you or collaborate on these areas, and perhaps see if this partnership is still right for you and your organization, do not hesitate to reach out to us.
