Fabio Santandrea
Forskare
Fabio holds a PhD in physics from the University of Gothenburg, where he conducted research on mathematical modelling of Nano-Electromechanical Systems (NEMS) and developed an extensive competence in different areas of nanotechnology, materials physics, and related numerical methods. After completing his PhD studies, he moved from academia to industry and worked four years as computational engineer, contributing to a variety of projects for companies in the automotive and offshore industries. During his time in industry, he had the opportunity to develop his skills in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) applied to mechanical and electromagnetic problems as well as in modelling of dynamical systems via Ordinary Differential Equations (ODE). Since January, 2016 he works as Researcher at RISE (at that time SP), contributing to both commercial assignments and research projects. His research interests include uncertainty analysis, reliability, computational mechanics, and Life Cycle Assessment. He is a member of the NAFEMS Stochastics Working Group and the NAFEMS Nordic Steering Committee.
