Thesis title: Assessment and development of laser-based additive manufacturing technologies (SLM and DMD) for metal microfabrication
Research experiences:
1. Design for Additive Manufacturing of industrial components through a) basic assessment of Manufacturability for existing industrial components, b) (re) design for AM aiming at high-performing products using innovative techniques such as generative design algorithms.
2. Precision Additive Manufacturing using laser powder bed fusion and direct energy deposition.
3. Quality control and metrology of AM parts using state-of-the-art techniques such as micro/nano computed tomography.
4. Development of model-based processing diagrams for LPBF of several engineering alloys such as Ti alloys, H13, Fe-6.5%Si, Inconel (718, 625), Copper alloy (Cu-Cr-Zr) and NiTi shape memory alloys.
