Chemical risks – thermoplastics including diisocyanates

Improper handling of thermoplastic components can cause allergies and other problems. This training provides knowledge on how to work safely with various thermoplastic components.

The aim of the course is to give the participants knowledge about the risks involved in the work and what protective measures may need to be taken in order for the work to be carried out safely. The course also gives the participant a valid training certificate for thermoset work according to legal requirements, AFS 2023:10 Chemical work environment risks.

The training meets the requirements of the REACH regulation.

Target group

Persons who lead, are exposed to or are actively employed in work with dangerous chemical products containing:

  • diisocyanates
  • epoxy plastic components
  • organic acid anhydrides (mentioned)
  • formaldehyde resins (mentioned)
  • methacrylates which must be labeled with H317 or H334
  • acrylates which must be labeled with H317 or H334
  • as well as during work that involves thermal decomposition that releases isocyanates or processes that release formaldehyde.

Training is also required for work with chemical products containing ethyl-2-cyanoacrylate or methyl-2-cyanoacrylate if the work lasts more than 30 minutes per week in total.
