Contact TedThis course gives you an overview of the field of functional safety and the application of ISO 26262. We also delve into the software development life cycle of the standard.
About the course
The international standard ISO 26262:2018 is used to ensure that the electrical/electronic (E/E) systems used in safety-related functionality in road vehicles are reliable. The aim of the course is to provide participants with an overview of the 12 parts of the standard. You get an understanding of how to work with the standard and how the reference life cycle the standard is built around looks like. This includes how to estimate the need for risk reduction in E/E systems, how to achieve and evaluate risk reduction and the interaction between vehicle manufacturers and suppliers.
We then delve into part 6 of the standard - "Product development at the software level" - and also go through the requirements in parts 5, 7, 8 and 9 that are related to software development.
