Wood-based Products, EWP, CLT, Glulam, Wood based boards, sawn timber
Wood-based Products cover the entire value chain from structural timber to EWP or Engineered Wood Products such as Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), LVL, laminated wood, wood-based board materials and wood-based materials and products. This also includes work on standardization and regulations for construction etc.
RISE researches, develops, measures and evaluates eg. building materials, building parts and entire buildings where wood is used. RISE also researches and develops production methods and, together with customers and partners, finds new ways to use wood products. We provide support and assistance with quality assurance or verification of performance of whole buildings building komponents or of the construction process.
Wood and wood-based products have a huge potential across a range of sectors, from raw material for chemistry and textiles to furniture, and construction. With new technologies emerging to help enhance many of the material’s properties – including fire resistance and strength – these potential application areas are expanding.
RISE's research and development activities are found in areas such as strength, moisture measurement and industrial construction. We collaborate with several universities and colleges and participate in a number of national and international research projects. We also work closely with large and small companies and various organizations such as TMF, Swedish wood, Träcentrum Norr and Smart Housing Småland.
