Contact Yvonne MThe Bioeconomy Innovation Platform project is run by RISE Processum and builds on a model developed to initiate, conduct and support needs-driven research and innovation in collaboration with industry, academia and society.
Resource efficient use of blue and green natural resources such as water and forests, as well as residual streams from forests, agriculture and the food industry, is crucial to achieving the goal of climate neutrality by 2050. Middle Norrland has a unique opportunity to contribute to the processing of industrial residual streams into important resilient value chains in food, feed, biochemicals, biomaterials and biofuels.
With the project Innovation Platform Bioeconomy, the goal is to contribute to increased growth in the region's bioeconomy companies and create better conditions for more bioeconomy companies to be established in the region.
Small and medium sized enterprises (SME) are an important part of Sweden's business and development, but rarely have the opportunity to conduct their own research and development activities. The project aims to support SME for increased growth and competitiveness by increasing innovation capacity and making infrastructure, experts, financing and networks available. By inviting SME to take part in the innovation platform's open working model, companies can receive support with research and development as well as business models and commercialisation.
