Power forecasts are an important tool for network owners, municipalities, industries and others who want to plan for future power needs and electricity use.
The demand for electricity will increase sharply in the coming years. Electrification places new demands on electricity distribution and energy system planning. To meet these challenges, RISE has developed a tool to produce effect forecasts for regions, counties and larger geographical regions.
The forecasts are a common knowledge base for both network development plans and municipal and regional development plans. An overall picture of the development not only creates better conditions for meeting the rapid pace of development, but also provides a better basis for the continued electrification of industries, transport, companies and growing urban areas. Power forecasts is a GIS tool where you can predict an expected demand for power and energy with a resolution of square kilometers. An example of an impact forecast map is Region Skåne, which had RISE produce a map that covers Skåne and extends to the year 2040.
