Food safety management system certification - ISO 22000

Organisations who are certified according to ISO 22000 demonstrate both internally and externally that they have a well-functioning approach to food safety.

The food safety standards can be used by all organisations in the food chain, from raw material handling, processing and production of food and packaging material, storing and transport of finished products.  It is the management tool to guide how food safety activities are planned, implemented, monitored and continuously improved to control product safety. It helps organisations to, 

• mapping processes and flows
• identify and assess potential hazards/risks
• ensure compliance with legal and other stakeholder requirements
• provide management with good governance over the organisation's food safety control
• set concrete targets for improvement to continuously monitor and evaluate food safety control
• continuously improve its processes and procedures

Method

An independent accredited agreement with specific requirements for food safety management system certification is ensured through an initial audit, annual follow-up audits and recertification audits every three years.

Deliveries

When the organisation meets the requirements for ISO 22000 food safety management system certification, the certificate is issued.
