Domestically unique pilot scale coating extruder that can produce plastic films and coatings on paper/board in small scale.
Extrusion is the most common method (by volume) for processing plastics, as well as producing films and plastic components with specific profiles. The extruder testbed is a setup for development, testing and optimization of new or established plastic formulations or composite materials.
The testbed consists of:
- Minilab-extruder (Haake)
- Medium-sized laboratory extruder (LabTech Technologies) with modular screws and a setup that enables gravimetric feeding, liquid injection, degassing, air or water cooling of the extrudate, as well as pelletizing.
- Pilot scale coating extruder (Extron).
- Injection molding machine (BOY) for production of impact and tensile test samples
