Entry environments to large-scale research infrastructure
Read more about the different entry-level environments for neutron- and photon-based technologies in large-scale research infrastructure that RISE offers.
Entry environments are environments in which, among other things, you can get the opportunity, and help with, planning experiments on large-scale research infrastructure, sample production, analyzing results and performing pilot studies with lab equipment. In addition to complementary equipment, there is also expertise in method development and the techniques used in MAX IV and ESS and how they can be used in various research and application areas.
SAXS / WAXS / GISAXS measurements
Are you curious about the nanostructure of your material? We offer characterization of nanostructured materials with SAXS, WAXS and GISAXS measurements at our experimental station.
Lab-based X-ray tomography
Do you want to know more about the 3D structure of your material at the micro to centimeter level? Do you want to see the inside of your product without destroying or disassembling it? We offer non-destructive imaging via our lab-based X-ray microscope in 2D (projection image), 3D (tomography) and 4D (time-resolved tomography).
Transmission electron microscopy (TEM)
With the help of TEM, materials can be analysed on the nanometer- to micrometer-scale, which can be useful either as a complementary technique or as preparation and sample screening before experiments at large scale research infrastructure facilities. We offer different specimen preparation techniques, as well as imaging with TEM/STEM, electron diffraction, cryo TEM and tomography.
Analysis with micro X-ray fluorescence and powder X-ray diffraction
Micro X-ray fluorescence and powder X-ray diffraction are two powerful techniques to characterise materials. Both can be useful either as a complementary technique or as preparation and sample screening before experiments at large scale research infrastructure facilities.
