New report about PFAS-free alternatives in food packaging

11 December 2020, 09:52

The current market share of non-fluorinated alternatives is less than 1% or less. The key reason seems to be the higher cost of non-fluorinated alternatives, which results in paper and board for food packaging between 11-32% more expensive than food packaging using PFAS.

OECD has therefore published a report addressing the commercial availability and current uses of alternatives to PFAS in food packaging, including a number of policy recommendations aimed at government authorities, international organizations, and industry.
