Analysis of PAHs - Polyaromatic hydrocarbons

It is important that the textiles on the market are free of harmful and regulated substances. Chemical analysis is a way to gain control over the products' chemical content.

Purpose

The major source of PAHs is the incomplete combustion of organic material such as coal, oil and wood. Some PAH are carcinogenic, allergenic (sensitizer) and toxic. Several are persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic in the environment. As a consequence  of this, some PAHs are regulated in REACH.

We can help you interpret the legal requirements in REACH and POPs and propose appropriate analysis.

OEKO-TEX standard 201 M-23 & ML-23 – Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH)

SS-EN 17132:2019 Textiles and textile products - Determination of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH), method using gas chromatography
