Mechanical tests for surfaces and coatings
Good mechanical properties are needed to prevent damage on constructions caused by mounting, abrasion, climate and environment. We test adhesive properties, abrasion resistance, stone chip resistance, scratch resistance, impact resistance, hardness and bending.
Purpose
We have a complexed offer of equipment and many years of knowledge of mechanical properties.
We can help you find the weak point in a system when it comes to adhesion between different layers. Test if the product reach different requirements according to specification. Early information about the properties in a product development.
Method
Coated surfaces should stand against several external forces and therefore we perform several types of tests as adhesion test according SS-EN ISO 4624 (pull-off test), adhesion test according to SS-EN ISO 2409, scratch resistance according to SS-EN ISO 1518-1 and impact test according to SS-EN ISO 6272-1. The tests are often performed together with some sort of aging test.
Scratch resistance with Erichsen pen according to Volvo STD 423-0030, Colour fastness to rubbing according to Volvo STD 423-0037, flexibility according to SS-EN ISO 1519 are other tests that we also perform.
We perform the tests in our lab in Borås.
