Reaction-to-Fire Laboratories

The testbed composes of three laboratories for small and medium scale testing that each have advanced measuring equipment for heat release rate, flame spread, ignitability and production of smoke and toxic gas species. We have calorimeters that can measure heat release rate ranging from a few watts (corresponding to a match) to 2000 kW (corresponding to a room fire). We also have test equipment to evaluate the explosive properties of dusts.

We have complete equipments for the most important national and international test methods, about 100 of them, of which we are accredited and/or notified to the majority. We also carry out ad hoc testing when necessary such as whole room fires and simulations of specific fire situations.

The laboratories are environmentally adapted and equipped with flue gas purification and extinguishing water purification, which enables environmentally friendly testing and research.
