Susanne Stenberg

Susanne works with research and development within digital systems and AI. Her expertise is the legal perspective on new technologies or new phenomena. She participates in and drives projects in areas such as transport, energy, shipping and data-driven innovation where technology development is rapid. Her research is often on how to introduce new technology in a sufficiently safe way, where is the sustainable business case and increasingly also on how to go about with applied AI research or industry product- and service development in relation to the European regulations in digitization and AI. For example, it can be how to test in a real environment or to go from innovation to market, for a more sustainable society and a strengthened competitiveness. - Ensuring legal technology and service development is necessary, e.g. in order to scale up a pilot operation. One way is to participate in our Policy Lab. For the development and use of AI systems, how the upcoming EU regulations in digitization affect different actors is something that occupies more and more of my research, says Susanne. Susanne has extensive experience in working with legal analysis to identify and clarify path choices, and also in developing regulations and policies. She has previously worked as a judge in court and in drafting laws and regulations at the Government Office. Susanne runs the AI Policy initiatives at RISE Center for Applied AI and RISE Policy Lab Digital Systems. She is a member of the Delegation for Maritime Support. She has been the editor of the Drive Sweden Smart Mobility Newsletter, and she writes in newsletters about AI and applied research.
