RISE secures your AI journey - in the public sector

Public sector organizations risk losing competitiveness and efficiency if they do not take advantage of the opportunities offered by AI. With the help of RISE, they can now confidently step into the world of AI and offer citizens even better services. RISE offers a partnership that aims to support transformation management, training, test and demo tools, research and experience sharing with others on the same journey. Already, 17 actors have joined.

There are challenges in implementing AI in the public sector, especially in health, healthcare, education and social care, which handle large amounts of sensitive information.

“What they all have in common is that there is a caution in starting to use generative AI with regard to data security and integrity; they simply don't want to make mistakes,” explains Joakim Börjesson, who is leading the work at RISE.

Refraining from AI entails several risks for public sector organizations:

Lower efficiency
Poorer service and quality
Missed innovation opportunities
Slower decision-making processes
Higher costs for manual handling

Overall, this is not good for citizens, competitiveness or efficiency. RISE Research Institutes of Sweden is an independent player that is now helping public sector organizations to jump on the AI journey in a safe way.

“RISE contributes an entire ecosystem of resources in the form of AI research, knowledge and technology, which allows us to help the organizations that have joined optimally,” says Joakim.

One tool used in the process is RISE GPT, which solves the problems linked to security and integrity that public organizations must take into account. This arises when using open generative tools where the information is stored in an insecure manner and can cause problems both legally and in terms of integrity. RISE GPT is developed together with the partners involved and data is not stored in the tool, which is a more secure solution.

The arrangement with RISE as a partner, which provides access to the technical learning environment, advice, testing and training, has in a short time become highly appreciated and a kickstart for getting started with AI in their specific business.

"At present, 17 organizations have entered into partnerships with us, and they have an exciting knowledge journey ahead of them,” says Joakim.
