SS-EN ISO 6941

This method is used to evaluate flame spread properties of vertically oriented textiles such as curtains, drapes, apparel textiles etc by measuring the burning time.

Purpose

The purpose of the method is to evaluate the flame spread property defined as burning time.

Method

Ignition is carried out for 10 seconds with a small gas flame against the surface or bottom edge of the material.

Standards like SS-EN 1102, burning behavior-curtains and drapes and SS-EN 1103, fabrics for apparel-burning behavior refers to this method.
