Pilot Line Production Services – developed by the MANUELA project

Explore The Pilot Line Production Services, covering the full AM development cycle, offered by partners across Europe.

Twenty European partners have cooperated since 2018 in the Horizon 2020 funded MANUELA project (n°820774), coordinated by Chalmers University of Technology, to develop comprehensive metal additive manufacturing pilot line services. The goal was to create an optimal solution from cost, agility, and sustainability perspective.

Now the competence and know-how from the project is made accessible for the European industry and other stakeholders. The project partners Chalmers University of TechnologyCSEMCIM 4.0HexagonNeue Material Fürth GmbH, and RISE  continues to work together to offer services through the Application Center for Additive Manufacturing platform as developed in the MANUELA project.

Depending on the service requested the partners will collaborate or work stand-alone to ensure the best quality and cost. The partners possess high competence and long experience in the field of metallic materials, powder bed fusion laser beam (PBF-LB), powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF-EB), design for additive manufacturing, post-additive manufacturing and automation.

This collaboration brings together experts, researchers, engineers, manufacturing capacity across Europe to ensure the best support along the entire value chain for metal additive manufacturing. Moreover, the collaboration with the Application Center for Additive Manufacturing, brings additional competence and support to our customers by expanding the manufacturing capacity including metal binder jetting (MBJ), directed energy deposition (DED), robot-assisted additive manufacturing of polymers and ceramic materials.
