Technical visit - Volcano Safari

A joint technical visit togehter with FIVE will be organized Tuesday April 8 at 15:00 CET.

The technical visit of ISTSS 2025 and FIVE 2025 is a volcano safari. We will go on a guided bus tour in the Icelandic landscape.

  • Presentation on Local Activities with a local guide Sigurbjörn Dagbjartsson:

    • Community resilience in volcanic areas.
    • Visit area showing damage of Grindavik.

  • Return to Hilton Reykjavik Nordica at about 19.00

Note: There will be a coffee break at 14:30, so take the opportunity to refresh yourself before departure. Wear weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes for rough terrain, and, if you have one, a "lopapeysa," the iconic Icelandic sweater designed for cold weather.
