RISE EMC capabilities expand with the innovative Volta laboratory
28 December 2023, 16:41
RISE is opening the doors to its 10th EMC laboratory, proudly introducing the latest addition – Volta. The laboratory primarily focuses on conducted tests for both low-voltage systems and automotive high-voltage systems and components.
The Volta laboratory is equipped with a light-shielded room with performance capabilities enabling a variety of complementary tests.
“Here, we will not only perform wired tests but also radiated tests at higher frequencies, relieving existing laboratories. This increased capacity allows us to meet our customers' growing demands for electromagnetic compatibility testing,“ says Krister Kilbrandt, Director for EMC-Vehicles.
In this light performance room adapted for high-frequency testing, Bulk Current Injection (BCI) tests and On-Board Transmitter (OBT) tests are conducted in accordance with the ISO standards, specifically ISO 11452-4 and ISO 11452-9. Additionally, the Volta lab has new equipment to support ISO 21498 and ISO/TS 7637-4 testing.
We also have space in the new laboratory to perform Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) tests according to ISO 10605 and European Norm (EN) 61000-4-2. This capacity will also relieve existing laboratories.
“We aim for the Volta laboratory to be fully operational from February 2024. This step in our development will strengthen our position as a leader in EMC testing, enabling even higher quality and reliability in our services,” says Krister.
