Helios Innovations is moving forward with its technology and new collaborations

It was the winter of 2017 when Jonatan Persson, founder of Helios Innovations, got the idea for the technology that today is the foundation of the startup company. For the next five years, the team behind the company worked to develop and verify the technology, which they succeeded with in 2020. Helios participated in the 2022 edition of the Forest Business Accelerator program, where RISE is a partner, which now takes the company further with exciting collaborations.

-We saw great potential in participating in the Forest Business Accelerator. Mainly by taking part in the cluster that exists around FBA but also to get the opportunity to understand the area better and everyone who works within it, says Erik Rosengren, Project Manager & Business Developer at Helios.

A lot has happened for Helios in 2022. The company continues to grow and they commissioned their first commercial unit while working with several large clients, one of which is SCA.

-During the first meeting with FBA, we came directly into contact with SCA, from whom we had great help during the year. Together with SCA, we work with biosludge and we carried out a preliminary study which they will now evaluate and see how we take that work further.

- Helios Innovation's technology has shown great technical potential where there is value in reducing the water content. We look forward to having a continued dialogue around these aspects, says Hans Johansson Senior R&D Specialist at SCA.

In addition to direct contact with SCA, Helios also gained access to RISE's knowledge of the financing landscape linked to climate innovations.

-Helios has a very exciting technology with great potential. By guiding and supporting them around the various calls that are available, they can get access to funding that can help them take their technology further, says Leif Lyckebäck, Innovation and process manager at RISE.
