International technology group ANDRITZ has acquired a Processum Biorefinery Cluster member company

04 September 2024, 16:15

PulpEye AB is a member company of the Processum Biorefinery Cluster and develops online pulp analyzers, measurements and controls for the global pulp and paper industry. In early September, it was announced that the international technology group ANDRITZ had acquired the company.

The Swedish analysis and measurement technology company PulpEye, headquartered in Örnsköldsvik, has for many years collaborated with RISE in Örnsköldsvik in various joint research projects where RISE has been involved in feasibility studies and the construction of various demonstrators at an early stage.

- “We have had an exciting development journey where several of our products have been created through feasibility studies, based on partial funding via the R&D Council. DotEye, RedEye and CrillEye are examples of some of our products developed in collaboration with RISE in Örnsköldsvik,” says Öjvind Sundvall, CEO of PulpEye AB.

-"It's fantastic that PulpEye is now taking this important step and becoming part of a larger group. It is a great acknowledgement that our work in the Processum Biorefinery Cluster has contributed to the growth of PulpEye and the new opportunities that now open up with ANDRITZ as owner,” says Karin Johnson, CEO of RISE Processum AB.

“With the ANDRITZ acquisition, the company is now taking the next step on its journey to offer internationally competitive products and services.

- “For PulpEye, this means that we gain access to an expanded market where we complement the Andritz SMART product portfolio for digitalization with new sensors and measurement technology for optimization. Together, we give our customers access to a complete package solution,” says Öjvind.

Stephan Keuschnigg-Zingl, Senior Vice President Pulp and Paper Automation and Digitalization at ANDRITZ, says: “We are very pleased to welcome the PulpEye team with its excellent analyzer portfolio to ANDRITZ. This acquisition further strengthens our offering in automation and digitalization and allows us to provide reliable analyzers to measure all the main quality parameters of pulp processing, as well as new solutions and services leveraging them.“
