Reselo wants to replace fossil-based rubber with new material made from birch bark

We humans increasingly use fossil resources such as gas and oil to produce a variety of materials and goods, for example plastic and rubber. In order not to accelerate climate change, people today strive towards independence from fossil resources. The company Reselo has developed a unique bio-based material, Reselo Rubber, which functions as a fossil-free rubber.

When this year's edition of the Forest Business Accelerator program started, Reselo was one of the companies that were introduced. 

-Forest Business Accelerator is the perfect opportunity for us to strengthen and expand our network in the forest industry. We also hope that it will pave the way for securing the significant quantities of birch bark that we will need to deliver Reselo Rubber to the world, says Thomas Baumgarten, co-founder and CTO of Reselo AB.

Reselo has previously been in contact with RISE Processum, which is a partner of the Forest Business Accelerator, to get guidance and advice for financing in climate innovation. RISE Processum has also produced smaller volumes of the material for testing.

- We at RISE Processum have had an intensive collaboration with Reselo and will continue to work with the company within the framework of the Forest Business Accelerator in three main areas, financing plan, connection to industrial players as well as expertise, and testbeds.
