Tomorrow’s construction affects us all
Schools, houses or hospitals – regardless, it must first be drafted, planned and designed, and then built, managed and later maybe demolished and recycled. Constructed environments affect us all due to challenges associated with the environmental impact of materials, the construction process, costs and the effect on people. Focus is on the entire construction process in terms of its value chain, circularity, quality assurance, and digitisation. Tomorrow’s construction is undergoing a system transition.
RISE helps customers to make knowledge-based decisions in the face of this major transition. We develop knowledge through applied research, and we evaluate and experiment with new technologies in our test beds. This involves concepts such as energy-efficient buildings, construction techniques, materials, sound and vibration, moisture damage, and indoor environments. Technological advancement proceeds at an ever-increasing pace, therefor work needs to be carried out in close collaboration among business, academia and research institutes.
