Social sustainability and innovation in adaptive urban development
Cities are forever changing, affected by climate change, digitalisation and migration. Developing sustainable cities calls for new working methods. In modern urban and societal development, methods and technical solutions are combined with human needs. Such as when a social sustainability project also aims to improve well-being and reduce segregation.
To RISE the city is a mix of social, cultural and technical systems, including buildings, infrastructure, places and digital technology. We work with municipalities, authorities and organisations to find solutions to complex problems. RISE mainly focuses on transition, social sustainability and innovation in urban development. We support cities’ innovation and transition work, with dialogues and co-creation, and with the living conditions found in cities and communities. Such as developing a decision analysis tool to help housing developers to determine the consequences for the construction process of different choices in the various steps of the value chain.
