Vinnova, in collaboration with the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet), is investing an additional 12 million SEK in three crucial centers for biological medicines, including NextBioForm. These three centers will receive extended funding in the coming year, each receiving an additional four million SEK.
"We have received the exciting news that Vinnova will continue to fund NextBioForm through 2024," says Anna Fureby, center director and researcher at RISE. "This means that we can continue our successful collaboration within the center. In 2024, several of our doctoral students will present their dissertations and be ready to transition into industry and academia."
These centers are part of an eight-year research program for biological medicines with a total budget of 320 million SEK spanning from 2016 to 2023. Vinnova and the Swedish Research Council have been leading this program, which is a component of the government's strategic collaboration program in the field of life sciences.
Thanks to NextBioForm, coordinated by RISE, CAMP - Centre for Advanced Medical Products, coordinated by Umeå University, and CellNova, coordinated by KTH, Sweden has established a strong foundation to assume a leading position in the field of biological medicines and advanced therapies.
