centre meeting November 2022

Report from the centre meeting

17 November 2022, 14:03

The consortium meeting occurred three weeks ago, and we were very happy to see you all! More than 30 people travelled to Sigtuna, while another 8 people joined us online. This autumn meeting was focused on our young scientists, who all presented their newest findings and future plans.

We had the great pleasure to welcome two members of our scientific advisory board to the meeting. Prof Reinhard Miller joined us online from Germany while Dr Barry Moore took the opportunity to be present on-site in Sigtuna. It was highly appreciated to have their input on the different projects and to be able to discuss the work which has been done so far and what to come. Barry Moore held a very appreciated inspirational talk on how to allow for failure in experiments and how failures sometimes can be your best friend.

During the meeting, Erik Kaunisto and Christopher Söderberg gave a demo on the virtual reality SAXS programme they have developed and that will be made available at MAX IV. Participants of the meeting were able to try the system out and it was a queue to the station throughout the evening!

Next consortium meeting will be held in the late spring, and we look forward to seeing you all face to face in the next year.
